(about) 40 Year Reunion

On May 7, a contingent of 30 alumni from Mason's early years (Classes of 1972 and earlier) gathered in Mason Hall for a mini-reunion. Richard Sparks, '64 and MS '73, shares his impressions of the event:

"We had a great time at the reunion. I didn't have too many expectations.... But, who should I find immediately, but my old chemistry lab partners from 1962, whom I haven't seen since that time. Besides that, it was fun exchanging 'war stories' with other alumni who date from the 1960s, whether I knew them previously or not."

Grad Week 2009

To congratulate the Class of 2009 on all their accomplishments, Mason held this year's Grad Week from May 8-16. A number of activities on and off campus took place, including a day at Six Flags America in Maryland, the annual Alumni Association Grad Brunch, the Office of Annual Giving's Senior Giving Party (pictured left and below), a Potomac River cruise aboard the Cherry Blossom, and more.

Deidra Marie Bailey, '09, a Grad Week participant appreciated the chance to close out her senior year with the celebration: "As a senior, Grad Week has been a great chance for me to be around and spend time with the people I came to Mason with four years ago. It has also been an antidote to the stress I had during finals week.

"The Grad Brunch and cruise were amazing events that I am so glad I could attend. This week has helped me in my transition out of Mason. I may be sad, but I can say I ended my career at Mason on a high note."
