Alumni Ambassadors

The Mason Alumni Ambassadors serve as a volunteer program in the Office of Admissions at George Mason University. The program is designed to engage spirited alumni and parent volunteers in the admissions process by sharing their positive experiences and enthusiastic support of George Mason University through interactions with prospective students and families. Alumni Ambassadors volunteer in a variety of ways including:

  • - attending college fairs in your area to offer an alumni perspective
    - emailing prospective students and parents to answer questions and share stories about your Mason experience
    - calling scholarship recipients to congratulate them on their scholarship award
    - visiting local high schools to distribute admissions materials

If you have questions about the program or want to get involved, contact Anna Goltz or call (703) 993-8737.

Annual Giving

When we talk about getting involved and giving back to Mason, there are two chief ways to do so; either by giving your time as a volunteer or giving your treasure in the form of a donation. Many alumni think the university only cares about high dollar gifts, but this is not true. One of the most important things you can do as an alumnus is make a small gift every year. Gifts of any amount add up and have life-changing implications for many of our students. Additionally, alumni participation as annual donors is an important factor in the national rankings of universities which can increase the value of your Mason degree! Alumni are encouraged to designate a portion of their Annual Giving donation to the Alumni Association to support our activities and programs, however we will be thrilled to see your gift to any of the fantastic programs on campus. For more information, visit the Supporting Mason website or call the Mason Foundation at (703) 993-8850.

CareerFairMason Career Link

As you work toward your academic and professional goals it is important to network and learn about industries of interest.  Mason Career Link is a database of alumni accessible to both students and alumni through HireMason under the networking tab. Users may search for alumni by career, major, company or job title. Alumni offer help with resume critiques, mock interviews, shadowing experiences, informational interviewing, or simply answering questions. Mason Career Link allows you to ask a fellow Patriot about their experience, network, and get advice.
