Alumni Association Welcomes Lambda Alumni Chapter

On June 17 at its final meeting of the year, the George Mason University Alumni Association approved adding the Lambda Alumni Chapter. The chapter will hold its first meeting on August 5 at 7 p.m. in room 251 of the Arlington Campus Original Building. Elections will take place. Planning for the year and for Alumni Weekend will take place at the next meeting on August 26 at 7 p.m. in the same location. Interested in joining? Winning Season for Alumnus/Coach Bill Brown

As a former Mason player, alumnus (BA Government and Politics '80), assistant coach, and head coach, Bill Brown has truly seen Mason grow over his long career. But this past season was especially memorable for Brown. Six of his players -- a Mason record -- were snapped up in the Major League Baseball draft, and Coach Brown was named CAA Coach of the Year for the sixth time. MORE>

USAF Band Commander Joins Mason Faculty

Col. Dennis M. Layendecker, commander, music director, and principal conductor of The United States Air Force Band, will join the Mason faculty this summer as the Heritage Chair in Music and director of University Orchestras in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. MORE>

Men's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Has High-Profile Opponents
