How long can I keep my Mason e-mail address after graduation?
Unfortunately the gmu.edu email address that you've had as a student will be shut down after you complete your course work. You will receive notification from ITU before your email is closed and this typically happens four to six months after graduation.
How can I update my contact information?
If you move, let us know. Visit the MASONline alumni directory to update your contact information. Once in the directory you can provide us with your home and work information, as well as, your phone number and email address. In addition, you can use the directory to search for your friends and set up a forwarding email address.
How can I stay connected to Mason if I move outside of the Washington D.C. area?
- Mason alumni are increasingly moving outside of the area and various groups have begun to gather in cities across the United States. For a complete list of clubs outside the area visit the Chapters and Clubs page.
- Alumni who are interested in gathering fellow Mason graduates in their own areas should contact Carol Swigart in the Office of Alumni Affairs at cswigart@gmu.edu or (703) 993-9101.

The Alumni Association's website is updated daily with a variety of information for alumni. By visiting the website regularly you can learn about various activities and benefits that are available. In addition, by making sure we have your current email address you will receive the MasonWire, the monthly e-newsletter which highlights news of the Alumni Association, the University, and Mason athletics.
How long can I use PatriotJobWeb?
Forever! As long as you register on PatriotJobWeb before graduation and keep your profile up-to-date, you may use it indefinitely for free. 6 months or more after graduation, first time registration in PatriotJobWeb costs $10. To register visit University Career Services.
How long can I continue to get assistance from Career Services as an alumnus?
• You may continue to see your career counselor for up to 6 months after your graduation date free of charge. After 6 months, there is a 3 session limit and an hourly fee. Learn more >
• You may attend job fairs, workshops, and informational sessions forever, free of charge!
• You may use the Career Library and Career Services website indefinitely.
How do I get involved and stay connected as a Mason Alumnus?
- Visit the Alumni Association's "15 Ways to Get Involved" website to learn of 15 different ways that you can get involved with Mason after graduation.
- Network with Mason alumni and supporters on the Career Network.
- Join our Facebook group or sign up for the young alumni listserv. To subscribe, send an e-mail message to: listserv@listserv.gmu.edu.
- Leave the subject line blank.
- In the message body, enter: "subscribe YOUNG-ALUMNI-L lastname firstname".
