Founding Patriots

Although the university became an independent school in 1972, George Mason is still alma mater for alumni from before that date. Fifty two students graduated from George Mason College in 1968 and the Alumni Association was founded at that time. Between 1968-1972, more than 1,400 alumni received their degrees.

We call this special group of early alumni our Founding Patriots. Their involvement demonstrates the true meaning of "lifelong connection.”
