The Alumni Association's Strategic Plan for 2013-18 outlines the direction for alumni initiatives through 2018. It was developed in the context of the university’s strategic vision and plan. The four core strategic areas aim to develop an alumni body that is proud, engaged, supportive and serving through leadership. Specific initiatives are developed annually in a collaborative process between Alumni Association leaders and Alumni Affairs staff. Programs and activities are developed in the framework of being inclusive and representative and in support of the university’s mission and goals.

To strengthen Mason by engaging alumni through fellowship, programs, and services which encourage active participation in the university community.

Strategic Goals:

  • Pride and Reputation

    Elevate pride in alma mater in order to build loyalty and reputation and tell Mason’s collective story

  • Engagement and Affiliation

    Motivate the alumni community to invest in the success of Mason.

  • Support

    Develop a culture of alumni philanthropy and service that is built on pride and affiliation. 

  • Leadership

    Provide leadership as the Alumni Association Board, serving as the official voice of alumni, in matters mutually related to the university and its alumni.
