Congratulations to Carter School Alumni!
|
The Celebration of Distinction is one of the oldest alumni traditions at George Mason University. The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution is incredibly proud of our three alumni who were recognized at the 2020 event that recently aired on GMU-TV: Lewis Dabney, MS '99, Robert Harris, MS '96, PhD '03, and Ilana Shapiro, PhD '03! As Alumni Association President, Sumeet Shrivastava, MBA '94 said "These alums showcase the qualities we value in our community: innovation, leadership, service, and a commitment to excellence."

Getting real about racism, diversity and inclusion Understanding what anti-racism, diversity and inclusion mean for George Mason University was just one of the goals of the Freedom and Learning forum hosted by President Gregory Washington. Ensuring a common definition of the terms helps create meaningful dialogue, and helps the Mason community understand the work of the Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence Task Force.

New academy at the Carter School helps future leaders navigate political conflicts As division and partisanship are increasingly emphasized in American politics, it is easy for conflicts to escalate. George Mason University’s Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution believes disagreements can be beneficial, when they’re approached the right way. That’s why they created the Political Leadership Academy (PLA) in partnership with the Bipartisan Leadership Project.
