The gentle stretches include fluid movements that are easy to do, and offer a feeling of renewal. Hamilton: The Man and the Musical | 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. EST
Alexander Hamilton has always been known as a central player in America’s early history, but the smash Broadway musical,
Hamilton, has focused new attention on the life and career of this fascinating individual. This multimedia presentation showcasing music from the show will draw on both Hamilton’s biography and its depiction on stage to review his accomplishments, discuss his relationship with Aaron Burr, and reflect on the accuracy of the musical. In collaboration with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), instructor Dan Sherman, PhD in economics from Cornell University and retired managing director at the American Institutes for Research, will lead the discussion.

Supplies needed to create a spirit bead necklace include yellow, green, or any other colored regular papers; Elmer’s school glue; a pencil; scissors; a ruler; toothpicks; a small paint brush; a string or fishing wire; beads with a large hole (optional); and a styrofoam plate or tray. How to Take Control of Your Health and Wellness Through Mindfulness Practice

Join us to learn how mindfulness meditation has been shown to reduce stress, improve health markers, ease sleep problems, and strengthen resilience. This workshop will provide an overview of the science underpinning mindfulness outcomes and include specific experiential exercises to weave into your day. Mason alumni are invited to help Stuff-A-Truck, with donated nonperishable food, toiletries, and supplies. Place the items in the trunk of your car for contactless pick-up. If you drop off your items between 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. EST, you will receive a Mason spirit item courtesy of the Alumni Association’s Live Committee!
*Please note that all attendees must complete the Mason COVID-19 health-check and have a GREEN status available to show staff on their mobile. Participants must remain in their vehicles. Masks are required at all times when engaging with event staff.

Explore the world of creative writing! Join
Art Taylor, MFA '06 (fiction writer and assistant professor of English), as he hosts an interactive writing class featuring alumnus,
Matthew Norman, MFA '06, and current third-year student,
Kyra Kondis. The audience will help select a sentence to start and end a story. Based on these sentences, our guest wordsmiths will be challenged to forge fiction on the fly! Non-writers are especially welcome.
