British agent, “Bond, James Bond,” was introduced to the world in Ian Fleming’s 1952 novel, Casino Royale, and has thrilled readers and moviegoers around the world ever since. This talk will review 007’s long life, from its origin in its creator’s work in Britain’s WWII intelligence service, through a hugely successful movie franchise, which most recently concluded with the words  “James Bond will return.” The talk will include clips from Bond films and include a great deal of "behind the scenes" information.

The presenter, Dan Sherman, is a retired economist who lives in Alexandria, Virginia and has presented more than 50 talks or classes on theatre, music, film, and mathematics to to many groups including the OLLI program at George Mason University.
