Memoir in a Flash: Life Stories in Short Bursts | 6–7 p.m. EST | Virtual
Steph Liberatore, MFA ’14, associate professor of English at Mason, leads a discussion on writing life stories in conversation with Art Taylor, MFA ’06, assistant director of Mason’s Creative Writing Program. The pair will field your questions about how to bring your histories to life and give participants the opportunity to write during the session and share their works.

Liberatore’s own nonfiction has been published in River Teeth, Sweet: A Literary Confection, Cream City Review, Inside Higher Ed, and elsewhere, and she’s recently launched a new online publication, In Short: A Journal of Flash Nonfiction. Find her online at stephliberatore.com.

Dave and Buster’s Happy Hour with Latino Alumni Chapter and Black Alumni Chapter | 5-8 p.m. | Dave and Buster’s (11958 U Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA 22033)
Join your fellow Latino Alumni Chapter and Black Alumni Chapter members to network and socialize while celebrating Mason’s Homecoming. We’ll celebrate with food, drinks, games, and much more!

Graduates of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D.) Homecoming Happy Hour | 6-8:30 p.m. | Bowlero Tysons (2001 International Drive, Suite 1695G, McLean, Virginia 22102)
Early-Bird Rate: $15 per person (available through 1/12/2024) (10 or younger is free)
Regular Rate: $20 per person (10 or younger is free)
This G.O.L.D Homecoming Happy Hour is a chance for alumni, particularly from the years 2013 to 2023, and their friends, family, or significant others to join us at Bowlero Tysons to reunite with fellow alumni and alumni chapter leadership. The ticket price includes two drink tickets (can be used for all beverages). Walk-ins are accepted with credit card payment available at the door.

Game Day - Parking Permit Passes | Load-In Time: 11 a.m. |Lot A, Fairfax Campus
Tailgate parking permit passes are sold out. For those who have purchased a parking permit pass, the registrant is able to have access to two parking spaces per registrant. Day-of registrations will not be accepted. Load-in time begins at 11 a.m. in Lot A outside of EagleBank Arena. You must show your registration to access the tailgate area. If you are interested in having your vehicle next to another registrant, your vehicles must be in line together when entering the tailgate area. Please review the tailgate rules and policies prior to the event. Note: Tickets must be purchased separately for the Game Day - Alumni Homecoming Festival Tent.

Local is Everything with Tommy McFly | 1-2:30 p.m. EST | Virtual
Growing up in the small, scrappy town of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Tommy McFly learned about community at an early age and has most recently been gaining notoriety for his coverage of local news and events for NBC4. His awards include a 2019 Capital Emmy for his coverage of the Washington Nationals’ World Series win, a 2018 EPIC Award for social media content, and an Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Mid-Atlantic region for his coverage of Pride Month in 2022. During this session, McFly will share his approach to make local news engaging.

Join the Lambda Alumni Chapter for our Homecoming happy hour! The event is open to all alumni who are LGBTQIA+ identifying, are allies, or just want to be in community with one another.
